My never-ending journey towards health - mentally, physically, and emotionally. Tracking my efforts to 'cut the fat' out of my life. The highs, the lows, and the occasional slip off the wagon.
Congrats!!!!!!! did you get the salary etc as well? When i got this job, I had a max salary and min that I wanted - with and without commissions seeing as in my business that can make a huge difference depending on the producers in my firm. I got the high salary, lower commission (which I'd rather have seeing as I can more than easily live with mortgage (not a small one...) and still travel etc with just the salary. I'm so excited for you!!!!! congrats! Oh, and lame on the vacation time... i'm re-negotiating to get my 4 weeks (we all start with 3 weeks with sick days being around 14 a year and 2 personal days..., not too shabby) in the next year instead of after 4. Now, the packing begins for you :)
CONGRATS! I'm so happy for you! How did negotiating go? For me cost of living expenses is the most important thing for negotiating. No where I've applied for allowed for negotiating vaca or sick days, but the last place I interviewed at had the most generous package anyway, so I wouldn't complain. I also prefer some freedom in setting my own hours (within reason). Things like title depend on where I applied. The place I'm hoping will hire me, they determine the title and it fits with my experience. Other places wanted to put whoever they hired far lower than was fair. When do you have to move by?
All - the person who called wasn't in a position to discuss salary and benefits with me. It's an unusual organization in which I am unofficially told I've been selected and then wait for HR to call. The vacation package for this type of organization is already really generous and has a very flexible work arrangement. If vacation and flexibility paid bills, I'd be a wealthy person. I'll be moving by end of August. Now we must begin crossing our fingers that PC can get a job in Dream State as well.
Rented life - I hope you get it. I know it's been really tough with you and finding work. But, industry isn't so bad. Maybe you can find some little side teaching positions to make it a fun hobby?
Hi Abbey - I don't know how I never made it over here to your new blog! I'm glad you commented on mine yesterday so I can read it now :) Congrats on the job!
Abbey, that made me laugh-"if vacation and flexibility paid bills..." And thanks for the encouragement. This place I'm interviewing at (2nd interview) tomorrow is very flexible so I'd still be able to teach an AM class or a late night class (I like the night ones anyway). At this point the stress of looking/dealing with rejections has gotten me to where I just want a job I may like.
Congrats!!!!!!!
